KARE 11 News Extra! - TV
In 1995, Minneapolis-based KARE 11 News did a report on hair transplantation that featured Dr. Ron Shapiro and a live surgery demonstration on a patient at the International Society of air Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) annual meeting in Las Vegas. One year later, KARE 11 did a follow-up report on the progress of the patient. This was one of the first public demonstrations of Follicular Unit Megasessions.

The book The Bald Truth (published by Pocket Books, a division of Simon and Shuster) recognizes Shapiro Medical Group's physicians to be among the top 10 in the world who specialize in Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation. Dr. James Harrris's book The Hair Replacement Revolution: A Consumer’s Guide to Effective Hair Replacement Techniques recommends Dr. Ron Shapiro among only 21 other physicians in the United States performing hair transplantation surgery.
“American Medical Review” - TV
In 2004, the American Medical Review shot a documentary to be aired on educational television on Dr. Ron Shapiro and The Shapiro Medical Group.
