STEP 4: PLACING
Placing is the final step in the hair transplant process. It is also a critical step because poor placing can lead to trauma and poor graft survival. This is another area were SMG physicians have lectured extensively and written multiple articles. There are many ways to help with the placing process:
- True surgical magnification is used to better see the sites.
- Finger-ups are used to hold the grafts during placing to ensure that they do not dehydrate.
- Tiny jeweler's forceps are used to place the grafts.
- The art of the “gentle place” is practiced at SMG to ensure that each graft is inserted with as little trauma as possible.
