SMG's surgery team works seamlessly and professionally to perform labor-intensive Microscopic Follicular Unit Hair Transplant surgery. All are highly focused on each patient, from administering medications and anesthesia to placing and post-op. The staff goes through a rigorous and ongoing training process with physicians and one another. Because a majority of the surgical staff has been with SMG for many years, they’ve achieved a high level of skill and experience. Surgical assistants from SMG are often used to demonstrate skills at conferences and live surgical demonstrations around the world, and physicians have often sent their staff to SMG for training.

Janna has worked with Dr. Ron Shapiro for 14 years, starting as a surgical assistant and working her way up to Clinical Operations Manager, a position she has held for over 10 years. She has honed her technical skills in all phases of the surgical procedure and has assisted with thousands of surgeries. She has contributed to the Assistant's Program at international and national conferences and has shared her technical skills and training methods with many clinics over the years. Janna travels with Dr. Shapiro to most conferences to assist with live surgery demonstrations. She also handles many of the pre-op and post-op surgery questions from patients, by phone and by email.

Jane has worked with SMG for almost 13 years and is one of our most experienced and skilled technicians. She is left handed—a useful skill when working on the left side of a patient. She has traveled with Dr. Ron Shapiro to help with live surgical demonstrations at national and international conferences and has instigated a number of advancements in the procedure. In addition, Jane has had her own hair transplant for typical female-patterned hair loss performed at SMG. Feel free to ask her any questions.

Pamela has worked for SMG for over 10 years. She is extremely talented and experienced at slivering, graft preparation and placing. In addition, she is a hair stylist who specializes in cutting hair for patients who have had transplants to help them make the transition to new hairstyles. She is another assistant who has come up with many ideas over the years to help make the technique more efficient.

Shelly has worked for SMG for over 8 years. She has traveled with Dr. Ron Shapiro to help perform demonstration surgeries at national conferences and he has come up with many ideas over the years to help make the technique more efficient.

Dal has worked at SMG for 5 years. Before working in the field of hair transplantation, Dal was an award-winning painter. His skills as an artist have helped him master the skills needed to be an excellent assistant.
